Louis Riel Day!

Louis Riel was a Métis leader during the Red River Resistance 1869 - 1870. He was involved in creating the List of Rights that was used to form the Manitoba Act.

The Manitoba Act was passed by Parliament in 1870, bringing Manitoba into Confederation. Louis Riel was instrumental in Manitoba becoming Canada's fifth province.

Use this day to enjoy and appreciate our beautiful province!
