Volleyball Winnipeg Advisory Council

The Volleyball Winnipeg Sports Advisory Council mandate ​is to provide an outsider’s perspective and advice to the Advisory Council with respect to achieving the strategic goals of its programs. The goal of this initiative can be summarized as:

• To provide advice to the Council on a wide range of areas including administration, software, marketing, social media, development priorities, strategic planning initiatives and policy development.
• To support the coordination of administrative functions across all sport programs.
• To support the development of new programs.
• To advocate and promote the value and benefit of sport for all ages and abilities.

Ad Hoc & Sub Committees

Generally, a committee is a small group of people formed with the intention of making decisions about issues or to take action on defined tasks. 

ADHOC Committees will form for a defined period of time to evaluate specific challenges and provide direction on how to resolve them. 

SUB Committees are in charge of specific events like fundraisers or tournaments, health and safety, risk management, fundraising etc. A sub-committee is usually answerable to the organization’s Executive team.

What is the Role and Responsibility of the Committee?
In brief, it is not the role of the committee to run programs … it is the role of the committee to ensure programs are run.

Many people have the impression that being on a committee member means having to do a great deal of work. Nothing could be further from the truth. The reality is that most successful committees create a culture of volunteering that allows for a balance between volunteers and staff so that work is distributed effectively among volunteers and staff. That is the overall goal of the Volleyball Winnipeg Sport Advisory Council initiative.

Hello Volleyball Enthusiasts,

We are taking the time over the summer to create video tutorials for instructors, bench coaches and school teachers.

This is a large project with weekly shoots so we are looking for contractors with video production experience to help produce quality training videos for the benefit of our community coaches.

We are also interested in working with anyone who has experience editing videos.
