Unfortunately due to the circumstances with COVID-19, the arrival of Miguel Angel Contreras López has been postponed. Volleyball Winnipeg looks forward to having Coach Miguel join us once it becomes safe to do so.

Volleyball Winnipeg Hires New Head Coach!

Volleyball Winnipeg is excited to announce that Miguel Angel Contreras López has accepted a Head Coach position!

With a degree in Physical Education & Sports, a Level 3 National Volleyball Coach Certification through Federación Colombiana de Voleibol, Bogotá, Colombia and a Level 1 Coach Certification through FIVB, he will bring a wealth of knowledge to Volleyball Winnipeg's programs.

Miguel played volleyball from 1989 - 2018 with various teams including Universidad Pedagógica Nacional "UPN" (1997-2003) where he served as captain and most recently with Universidad Manuela Beltrán "UMB" (2015-2018). During this time he helped his teams achieve multiple 1st, 2nd, and 3rd rankings in his home country Bogotá, Colombia. 

He began coaching in 2003, gaining experience as an assistant and organizer of various volleyball tournaments such as the, Colegios en Acción program "ESPN" in Bogotá, Colombia. His coaching lead his teams to many 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place victories between 2004 - 2020. 

His knowledge and experience will be a huge asset to Volleyball Winnipeg.
